difference between i fafo and alu i fafo?
Hi, I just finished unit 4 and unit 6. I noticed that 'Alu i fafo' means 'Go outside' and 'i fafo' means 'outside'. What's the difference?

I've been using the Asalei app and I noticed that 'Alu i fafo' is like a command, it's what you'd say to tell someone to go outside, whereas 'i fafo' is just saying something is outside, like 'O le peni lā e i fafo o le ipu' means the pen is outside the cup, does that make sense?
Yeah, that makes sense to me too. I remember seeing 'Ō i fafo' means 'You all, go outside,' so it’s kinda like a group command but shorter. Sometimes I mix up the instructions and just end up mixing Samoan and Tongan words, haha. Anyone else do that?
I do that too, I've caught myself saying Samoan phrases with Tongan words, it's pretty funny. I've been trying to practice with my family, but sometimes I get it wrong, like the other day I tried to say 'I like swimming in the sea' and I think I messed up the words, I said something like 'Ou te fiafia i le sami' but I'm not sure if that's entirely correct, does anyone know if that's right?
Yep, 'Ou te fiafia e 'a'au i le sami' is the right one for "I like swimming in the sea." The 'e' before 'a'au' makes it clear it's an activity I enjoy, not just liking the sea. I always giggle when I mix that up with my Tongan side too. Do you find it easier to remember stuff with the examples they give in the app?
Alu is the action word = “Go”. Sometimes the app seems to not have alignment with the writing and voice sound lol but when you’re just speaking in regular conversation to say “go outside” I just say “alu fafo”
alu means go and i fafo is outside
