Kia ora everyone. Just wanted to share a small win. I keep trying to remember to say "Kei te pai au" and it's finally starting to stick. I remember "Ka pai" as well. Just a small step, but it feels good to get a handle on some of the basics!

Good on you! I'm still mixing up "Kei te pai au" and "Ka pai" sometimes. The kids correct me when I get it wrong at home which keeps me honest.
That's good the kids are helping you out, Hemi. I sometimes wonder if I should try to use "Kei te tino ora au" more often, but "Kei te pai au" just comes out naturally now.
Yeah I reckon stick with what feels natural. I've been trying to use "Kei te pēhea koe e hoa?" with the boys at work but half the time I just say "Kia ora" and leave it at that. Baby steps eh.
Kia ora e hoa, it's definitely baby steps. I'm trying to use "Nō hea koe?" when I meet new people, but it feels a bit formal for just saying hello.
