Question about 'tōku' and 'ōku'

Hi everyone, I'm a bit confused about when to use 'tōku' and 'ōku'. I remember seeing 'tōku' for 'my' in 'Kua māuiui tōku tinana' and 'ōku mātua' for 'my parents'. Is it about singular versus plural? I'm not sure.

Yeah I noticed that too. I've seen 'tōku upoko' for my head and 'tōku puku' for my stomach in the lessons, both singular. But then 'ōku mātua' for my parents which is plural. Seems like you're onto something there.

Kia ora, Kiri. Āe, in terms of possession, tōku is for singular, while ōku is for plural. It goes the same with tāku vs. āku.
